Soro Soke Against Police Brutality

Hi guys, trust you had a great week. While you’re going about your weekend plans, take a moment to sit back and relax as we bring you the many trends that have been making the rounds across social media.

#EndSARS Returns

On Thursday, the #EndSARS campaign was reignited on social media after youths were angered by the now withdrawn lawsuit by the Nigeria Police Force seeking an Abuja Federal High Court order to halt the activities of all state judicial panels of inquiry probing allegations of brutality and human rights abuses by SARS officers.

The second wave has been gathering some momentum on social media and there have been over a million #EndSARS tweets in the past two days.

The youths are demanding the unfreezing of bank accounts of #EndSARS campaigners, the release of illegally detained protesters and justice for victims of the #LekkiMassacre.

This followed complaints by Airtel subscribers that they experienced a network downtime of almost 7 hours starting from 3pm in the afternoon.

Several users queried the operator for the service failure, which occurred for the second time in two months and prevented users from accessing the internet.

A few Airtel users demanded compensation for the inconvenience caused by the service stoppage.

Small Chops

A small chops story brought about conversations on social media when a lady accused another lady of reselling her small chops as though they were made by her.

Many people stated that small chops do not qualify as an intellectual property which can be patented as it is not a groundbreaking invention and does not require any special skill. They opined that the original maker should strike a business deal instead of generating controversy.

However, others felt people’s reactions showed that those who make small chops are underrated.
