    Burna Boy’s Twice as Tall Beats Wizkid and Davido to Top Spotify Most-Streamed Nigerian album in 2020

    Burna Boy’s recent album, ‘Twice As Tall’, was ranked as the No. 1 most-streamed Nigerian album on Spotify, in 2020 beating other Nigerian music icons like Davido and Wizkid.

    The album secured over 64 million streams during the year making it the most-streamed African album on Spotify.

    The rating is for albums that were released in 2020.

    Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album came in second in the ranking with 31 million streams during the year, while Davido’s ‘A Batter Time’ stood at 7th raking just 9.15 million.

    The lower streaming number of Davido’s album was mainly because it was released less than a month ago. In comparison, Wizkid’s album has been out for close to two months and Burna Boy’s Album has been out for four months.

    Twice As Tall

    Notwithstanding, Burna boy’s album raking in 64 million views in less than 4 months is a record for an African artiste.

    Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has been making waves in the music space since his African Giant Album broke grounds last year. The Album is currently the most-streamed African album on Spotify with over 200 million streams.

    This latest ranking comes shortly after the album earned the Afro Nigerian singer his second Grammy Awards nomination.

    The Twice As Tall project was executive produced by American rapper and businessman, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as well as Bose Ogulu, Burna’s mum. 

    Nigeria’s Top 10 Album in 2020

    Tiwa Savage’s ‘Celia’ album came in third in Nigeria with a total of 15.1 million streams on the platform during the year. Omah Lay’s ‘Get Lay’d’ album followed at fourth with 10 million streams.

    Adekunle Gold’s, Afropop Vol 1 completed the top five album’s with 9.6 million streams at 5th.

    On the bottom half of the album, Legendary singer, 2baba’s ‘Warrior’ album comes in at 6th with 9.18 million streams while Davido’s A Better Time album follows at 7th.

    Sensational YBNL artiste, Fireboy’s ‘Apollo’ album ranked eighth on the chart with 7.93 million streams closely followed by Kizz Daniel’s ‘King of Love’ album at 9th with 7.69 million streams.

    Niniola’s ‘Colours&Sound’ album completes the top 10 charts of the most-streamed album in Nigeria this year with 7.61 million streams.
