Nigerian Startup, Dropque Qualifies for the PeaceTech Accelerator Cohort 4

Nigerian recruitment startup, Dropque, has been accepted into the PeaceTech Accelerator programme –an eight-week program providing intensive mentorship and training for companies by building solutions that impact different indices of world peace using exponential technology.

🇳🇬 MEST Portfolio Company @dropqueapp is headed to DC for @PeaceTechLab's upcoming accelerator. Learn more about #peacetech and why Dropque CEO @AkinwoleolaO believes it's so important in this feature! https://t.co/BiQoqAtK3y

    — MEST Africa (@MESTAfrica) June 11, 2018

Dropque is Africa’s first interactive and intelligent talent which uses crisp candidate profiles, unassisted video interviews, and emotional/facial analysis to help companies find talent faster than ever.  It is designed in such a way that companies can interview candidates anywhere and cut recruitment time by 50% by helping them create video interviews and invite candidates to respond to them with timed responses.

Dropque is a MEST Portfolio Company, launched last year at the Ghana-based Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST), and backed financially by MEST in earlier this year.

We couldn't agree more with this statement from current #PeaceTechAccelerator member @AkinwoleolaO of @dropqueapp: "In Africa, we are not leapfrogging, we are flying." https://t.co/FCQBvv1Yap

    — PeaceTech Lab (@PeaceTechLab) June 8, 2018

And according to Opeyemi Akinwoleola (CEO):

Dropque’s proprietary technology allows companies to discover young talent regardless of geographical location, financial barriers, IT problems, and more. As many young people are facing recruitment from insurgency groups, criminal gangs, and terrorists, it’s important that companies can successfully battle this with their own recruitment processes. With more young minds active in the workforce, economies grow and become less prone to violence.

Alongside Dropque is another selected African startup, 3DS Technologies (a Kenyan software company specializing in digitization of documents), while the other 8 qualifying startups happen to be US-based  Agromovil, HighSide, Neuralys, Pinkaloo, Sou Sou, Suavei, TaQadam, and Video Volunteers.

The PeaceTech Accelerator is a Public Private Partnership between Peace Tech Labs (United States Institute of Peace), C5 Capital, a London-based VC Fund and  Amazon Web Services thats focused on helping to scale startups on the cloud and solve problems relating to peace, stability and security worldwide.

Startups are supported by a highly-experienced group of prominent international technology entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors and peace innovator. Participating startups will receive up to $50K in Amazon Web Service(AWS) credit, pitch to a group of potential investors, and be provided with unrivaled mentorship.
