Samsung Unveils Galaxy A12, A02 and A02s, Announces Joeboy as Brand Ambassador

Samsung has unveiled 3 versions of the A-series device – namely the Galaxy A12, A02s and A02. The company also announced popular Hip pop singer, Joseph Akinfenwa (Joe Boy) as the Brand Ambassador for the A-series at an event which held in Lagos.

The smartphone giant outdid itself with this list of affordable new smartphone series with spectacular high-tech capabilities to rival market competitions.

Caden Yu, Samsung Electronic Nigeria’s Managing Director

Speaking at the launch, Samsung Electronic Nigeria’s Managing Director, Caden Yu, described the new series A as a spectacular model that mixed innovation and high technology to give the best smartphone to customers.

He added that the devices are unique in 3 areas; memory, camera and battery. Caden explained that the A-series has high memory size at an affordable price, unmatched camera quality and long-lasting battery.

Though they are mid-range devices (for users who might not be able to afford the flagship Galaxy S series), Samsung designed the latest series with incredible improvements and additions to woo everyone. Here’s how the new devices compare to the old A series.

    The New A Series Specs

The Galaxy A12 has the best specifications of the pack. The device comes in an awesome screen display of 6.5” HD+ with an Infinity-V display. Bagging a 4 GB RAM and 64 & 128GB storage space, the new A12 is a significant upgrade from the 2/3 GB and 32 GB of the Galaxy A11.

With 128 GB space, A12 offers enough space to explore unfiltered creativity

The device has long-lasting 5,000 mAh battery (which is a serious upgrade over past Galaxy A series phones). The device also comes with an intelligent Quad rear camera with Ultra-Wide angle shot enabled.

Compared to the rear fingerprint in A11, the A12 has a side fingerprint scanner. It also has an improved Octa 2.3 Hz + 1.8 GHz processor. The recommended retail price is N67,000 for the 64Gb memory and N72, 000 for 128GB.

The Galaxy A02s comes next with an incredible 6.5″ HD+ TFT Infinity-V display which is a huge upgrade from the 5.7″ on the A01. Similarly, there were additions to the camera, increasing from a dual camera to a triple camera setup.

It does not come with a fingerprint scanner but it has an improved battery capacity from 3,000mAh in A01 to a longer-lasting 5,000mAh with fast charging.

The A02s device also comes with 3/4GB RAM, 32 & 64 GB storage space as well as a unique matte finishing in black, blue and red. The recommended retail price is N52,500 for the 3/32GB memory and N59, 000 for 4/64GB.

Similar to the Galaxy A02s, the Galaxy A02 comes with an awesome high-resolution 6.5″ Infinity-V display. The device also has a 2/32GB and 3/64GB RAM/Storage option.

While A02s comes with a triple camera, A02 has dual rear cameras including an ultra-wide-angle 5MP camera and a high-resolution front camera. It also has a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery and 15W fast charging.

The recommended retail price is N42,500 for the 2/32GB memory and N50, 500 for 3/64GB.

    In Summary

Only the A12 model is currently available in the country. According to Samsung’s Business Manager (Mobile), Max Jeong, the other models will be available in the coming weeks.

He added that the company is working to make accessories and parts of the new A-series model easily available and affordable to the customer.

Commenting on the new A-series, new brand ambassador, Joeboy, expressed immense admiration for the new model. According to him, the device has sufficient space to keep his office on his phone.
