Samsung Unveils Galaxy Fold, S10, S10E, and S10+ at S Series 10th Anniversary

Yesterday’s Samsung Unpacked event saw the prominent mobile phone manufacturer, Samsung give other manufacturers including Apple some fresh competition.

At the annual event, Samsung celebrated the 10th anniversary of Galaxy S phone by unveiling a set of new devices – the Galaxy S10E, S10, and S10+.

The #GalaxyS10 is a next generation smartphone like no other.
The next generation Galaxy has arrived.

This new set of phones come with remarkable features including the ability to charge another device wirelessly and an Infinity-O display that cuts a small circle on the screen to make room for the front cameras. They also carry the world’s first ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint reader which unlocks the Galaxy S10s using sound waves.

    The Galaxy S10

The S10 comes with a 6.1-inch screen and trademark thin bezels which Samsung is known for. The S10 also gives you three rear cameras: a 16-megapixel ultrawide sensor with fixed focus; a main 12-megapixel dual aperture wide-angle lens; and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens that can achieve a 2x optical zoom.

And for the front camera, users get a 10-megapixel front-facing camera, also with dual aperture.

The phone also comes with a 128GB or 512GB storage configuration, 8GB RAM, and a 3,400 mAh battery capacity. The phone comes in Flamingo Pink, Canary Yellow, Prism Green and Prism Blue, as well as Prism Black and Prism White. Price is tagged at about N326,000 ($900).

    The Galaxy S10+

The S10+ comes with a bigger screen of 6.4 inches. It also comes with the same triple-camera setup just as the S10 but has an 8 megapixel additional selfie lens to the 10-megapixel camera in front.

The phone also boasts of a bigger battery capacity at 4,100mAH, and 128GB or 512GB storage options with 8GB RAM. It also has a 1TB version packed with 12GB RAM. All this will set you back N362,000 ($1000).

    The Galaxy S10e

The S10e comes with a 5.8-inch screen and is the budget version of the set (probably in imitation of the iPhone XR). The Galaxy S10e comes with only two rear cameras; the wide and ultrawide sensors, but no telephoto lens. There’s also a single 10-megapixel selfie camera, just like the Galaxy S10.

This device does not come with a curved screen and the in-screen fingerprint reader like the others. For this, Samsung adds a sensor to the power button, just as in previous phones like J6+. It also packs a smaller battery at 3,100 mAh and comes with either 128GB storage with 6GB RAM, or 256GB storage with 8GB RAM. Price is tagged at N272,000 ($750).

The S10 series are expected to be on sales from March 8th 2019.

    Other Devices That were Unveiled

Did you see it? Wow, I want to use it by myself.. Very interesting and exciting!

Samsung also unveiled a Galaxy fold – the smartphone maker’s first foldable device. The device comes at 7.3 inches with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage at N724,000 ($2000).

The smartphone maker also announced a 5G variable for the S10+ that comes with 6.7-inch screen, two cameras in front and four cameras at the back. This is to be rolled out later in the year.
