Nigerian Female Data Analysts Can now Apply for Digital Explorers 6-Month Paid Training in Lithuania

ICT talent developer, Digital Explorers is currently receiving applications for the second cohort of its traineeship programme in Lithuania. The programme is aimed at supporting women in tech and closing the global tech gender gap. This cohort will feature up to 15 female entry-level Data Analysts and Data Scientists from Nigeria.

Selected female applicants will undergo up to 6 months paid traineeship in Lithuania. The internship will include intensive training and a job placement at a Lithuanian ICT company.

Calling on all entry-level female #DataAnalysts #DataScientists in Nigeria 🇳🇬! Apply to the second cohort of the #DigitalExplorers program for up to 6 months traineeship in Lithuania 🇱🇹 Hurry! Application ends in 2⃣ days! Apply here – https://t.co/IV5DIOvXRj

    — Digital Explorers (@digitalxplorer) October 1, 2020

Digital Explorers is partnering with Ventures Platform, Enterprise Lithuania, AfriKo, Diversity Development Group, and Code Academy to implement the traineeship programme.

This project is about upskilling the next generation of Nigerian entrepreneurs and knowledge workers with global networks and connections. Our ‘Digital Explorers’ will be working side by side with amazing people on world class teams, building products and services for global clients, and spending a lot of time in structured learning and networking activities.”

Kola Aina, Founder of Ventures Platform

“Looked at from a certain perspective, the people who make it into the Digital Explorers programme are effectively being paid to learn and acquire world class skills,” Kola Aina said.

Digital Explorers is collaborating with Data Science Nigeria (DSN) to select Nigerian female Data Analysts/Scientists from its 2020 Virtual Bootcamp which will kick off on 20th October 2020.

Digital Explorers’ ICT Project in Nigeria

Launched in 2019, Digital Explorers offered to grant up to 50 Nigerian ICT talents a 1-year paid internship opportunity in leading local ICT companies in Lithuania.

However, only 15 Nigerian ICT talents were selected from a pool of 1,400 young talents to join 6 leading Lithuanian ICT companies. According to Digital Explorers, the tech talents chosen had a chance to work on complex projects involving high-end bespoke solutions, big data, automation systems and other advanced technologies.

The first cohort of 15 ICT explorers in 2019 included both male and female tech talents. They have undergone the traineeship placement for a year in top tier tech companies in Lithuania.

Digital Explorers says the 15 talents are now concluding their 1-year career advancement journey and transitioning to full-time, more permanent employment.

Nigerian Female Data Analysts Can now Apply for Digital Explorers 6-Month Paid ICT Training in Lithuania

The Digital Explorers programme is funded by the European Union.

At Digital Explorers we want to open up an opportunity for Nigerian talents to work alongside Lithuania’s best and bring back acquired skills and knowledge for a stronger Nigerian digital landscape.

    Eugenija Kovaliova, Co-founder of AfriKo

    Summary

Interested Nigerian entry-level female data analysts/scientists should register for the DSN Hackathon to be considered for admission into the DSN Virtual Bootcamp. Only females shortlisted via the DSN Hackathon to attend the Bootcamp will stand a chance of being selected into the second cohort of the Digital Explorers traineeship programme.

Participants will receive bespoke ICT training to meet Data/Artificial Intelligence market demands in Lithuania and Nigeria. At the end of the training period, female talents who successfully complete the programme will be further assisted in finding the right employment opportunities in ICT when they return to Nigeria.
