Hi guys, trust you had a great weekend. There are several interesting events you can attend across the African tech space this week. However, most of the events will still hold virtually with the COVID-19 virus still spreading.

We have curated a list of some major virtual events. They come up between September 28 – October 3, 2020.

Data Protection Regulation

On Friday, NetSquared will be hosting a webinar on Nigeria Data Protection Regulation. During the webinar, concerns around privacy and protection of Personal Data and the consequences of leaving personal data processing unregulated will be treated.

The conversation will focus on the status and impact of the NDPR as it concerns Non Profits and Civil Society organizations.

The webinar will host well-renowned speaker and activist; Gbenga Sesan, the Executive Director of Paradigm Initiative. Paradigm Initiative is a pan-African social enterprise working on digital inclusion and digital rights through its offices in Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Zambia.

International Investment Policy

Today, the AfronomicsLaw will be hosting a webinar to discuss reforms of the international investment policy regime in Africa. During the event, experts will breakdown the new reforms in International investments.

The webinar follows up a recently concluded symposium on investor-state dispute settlement.

This week, Digital Science Global is hosting its first annual showcase. The organisation is targeted at anyone working in scientific research from academic institutions, publishers, government, funders and industry.

Some of the events scheduled include Collaboration on Tuesday and Research and Culture on Wednesday.

Intro to Coding Workshop

This week, Code Your Future will be hosting an introduction to coding workshop for people from disadvantaged backgrounds. During the sessions, experts are going to teach attendants about the world of web development.

The workshop will cover the basic technical and soft skills required to start on a path towards a career in the tech sector. It will also cover topics such as HTML basics, CSS Basics, and JS Basics.
