We have curated a list of some of the major virtual events you could attend. These events come up between June 15 – 21, 2020.

Mobile Money Industry in Africa

This event was organised by GSMA to provide insights to its State of Industry Mobile Money Report for Africa, 2019. The webinar will give participants better insights into the discoveries made by GSMA on Mobile Money in Africa. It will also reveal its forecast on the growth of Mobile Money for the year 2020.

The insights on the report will be presented by its Author, Nika Naghavi, Director, Data and Insights of GSMA.

Improving Energy Availability with Smart Ring Main Unit

Schneider Electric Nigeria will be discussing how to use Smart Ring Main Unit to improve energy availability. The learning webinar which will hold on Thursday will evaluate Ring Main Unit RTU for remote control and monitoring.

The session will also look at innovative solutions simplifying response to electrical distribution challenges and how to improve network performance indices.

Nigerian Fintech Landscape Webinar

This event was organised by EFInA (Enhancing Financial Innovation & Access) to provide insights into the Nigerian Fintech Landscape based its report on the sector. The webinar will provide participants with in-depth knowledge of different stakeholders in the Nigerian fintech ecosystem.

It will also present a breakdown on the type of funding in the sector and some of the best-funded startups and a peep into the different sub-sectors in the space, the types of technologies fintech use and how they enable financial inclusion.

The event will host Dayo Ademola, Head of Innovation at EFInA as the main speaker

Compliance and Handling of Data Breaches

On Wednesday, the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter will be hosting a webinar on the Compliance and Handling of Data Breaches based on the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation 2019 (“NDPR”).

The event will provide fact-based opinions as to whether the NDPR 2019 sufficiently protects the rights of data subjects in Nigeria. It will also highlight ways the NDPR 2019 can be improved to adequately protect the rights of Data Subjects in Nigeria.

Making Predictions with ArcGIS

This event was organised by Esri to provide insights as to how to make Predictions with ArcGIS. The webinar will reveal to data scientist and engineers the technology behind using machine learning to make predictions.

The session will also teach participants how to use ArcGIS to model and explore spatial data to uncover relationships and predict spatial outcomes.

Also, it will reveal how to use geoprocessing tools for feature engineering and data preparation for predictive modelling and how ArcGIS can integrate with machine learning frameworks will be discussed.
