DriverCheck, a Platform that Provides on-the-go Reliable Background Verification Launched in Lagos

DriverCheck, a Platform that Provides on-the-go Reliable Background Verification Launched in Lagos

The transport sector in Nigeria is set to experience a significant development as a new startup, DriverCheck has launched an easy and reliable Driver verification service.

The online platform allows users to make background checks of their drivers from the comfort of their locations, by relying on some basic details provided.

The platform is set to transform the way verification is done by making it easy for employers to obtain useful information about their drivers within a very short waiting period and at a very affordable cost.

Speaking about the new solution, Babs Akinyemi, DriverCheck’s CEO explained that the platform has been designed to help employers get informative reports about their employees and not to investigate them. This will reduce the risk they are exposed to and increase the information they have about their staff.

“DriverCheck solves the nagging problem of proper staff identification in Nigeria. Often, people are forced to work with their personal staff based on trust because the tools available for verifying requisite details of such staff are either too expensive to use or mostly unreliable. DriverCheck is an easy, affordable and very reliable option that is available to everyone”, he said.

To start, users will log on to https://www.drivercheck.ng/ and upload the National Identification Number (NIN) or the Biometric Verification Number (BVN) of the driver being verified. You will also be required to upload the image of the Driver’s license, a personal picture and the address of the individual.

In the absence of a distinct address, you may use the newly launched NIPOST Digital Address of the driver (which can be acquired using the NIPOST DAS app for free). If the driver is computer literate, an e-form can be sent to him as well and he will fill in these details himself.DriverCheck, a Platform that Provides on-the-go Reliable Background Verification Launched in Lagos

When these details have been submitted on the website, the details will be verified, and the collated result will be delivered to the verifier within 48 hours or less from query.

To verify the Drivers ID (BVN or NIN) and his FRSC Driver’s License as well as verify his Physical Address, the employer will pay the sum of N3,000 (Three thousand naira). However, if the service will include the verification of the Driver’s Guarantors and their current residential address (up to a maximum of two guarantors), this will cost N5,000 (five thousand Naira).

DriverCheck is a highly secure and reliable platform powered by Youverify, a data aggregation company and winner of the 2018 Village Capital PayPal Fintech Accelerator programme.
