In its continued strive to foster the growth of quality education in Nigeria, Edtech startup, Skoolmedia Limited, donated laptops and security gadgets to the Federal Science and Technical College (FSTC), Yaba. The event which held in the school premises is part of Skool media’s support scheme in ensuring quality education in a serene environment.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Moses Imayi, Project Director for Skoolmedia, noted that the initiative is to ensure that the students are kept safe while learning in a globally competitive atmosphere. This gesture is in alliance with Skoolmedia’s aim of providing students with world class education system to improve learning.
To this end, the startup handed over 20 laptops to the Vice Principals and Heads of Departments of the college. They also donated 3 patrol bicycles, 10 Walkie-talkies, 8 Security searchlights, 10 Raincoats, 10 Security batons and 20 Security whistles for the 27 security personnel attached to the school. This is a follow-up to a recently conducted training carried out in partnership with the school’s management on best security practices in the 21st century. This it hopes, will encourage the security officers to put their best in ensuring a safe environment for the students.
Mr Imayi also called on the school and its stakeholders to partner with its cause and support its implementation:
“Today reinforces our commitment to Federal Science and Technology College (FSTC), Yaba in ensuring consistent support to the advancement of knowledge. At Skoolmedia limited, education is pivotal to the growth of any economy and we will not relent in offering our services to ensure the momentum is maintained.”
On her part, the Director/Principal of FSTC, Dr. O. Ufoegbune said the school is grateful for such kind gestures by Skoolmedia and would continue to support and partner with them for the advancement of knowledge.
“It is a great thing for one of our partners, Skoolmedia to have decided to make this donation of laptops and security gadgets for the school’s use and as such the school is grateful to them for such kind gesture.”
Also present at the event was the PTA chairman, Mr. Olisa Anene, The Vice-principals, Heads of Departments, Chief Security officer, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (FSTC chapter) and other stakeholders.
