Team LSFlow has emerged the winner of the #SecureLagosHackathon organized by the Lagos State Education Trust Fund (LSETF) in partnership with First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Passion Incubator.
At the end of the #SecureLagosHackathon competition, 3 winners emerged.
1st prize: N2million – Team LSFLOW
2nd prize: N1million – Team AboEko

The Hackathon was organized to encourage the creation of technology-based solutions to help secure the lives and properties of people living in Lagos, improve the operations of existing security agencies, as well as provide employment opportunities by promoting entrepreneurship amongst the youths in the state.

The 3-day event which began on Friday, May 18th and ended Sunday, May 20th saw applications from over 200 tech-inclined participants with innovative ideas.
Each presentation made covered Problems, Market Opportunities, Approach/Solution(s), Team Content, and The Resources Needed to Succeed.

After the 3 days of discipline, mentoring and hard work, Team LSFlow (Group 3) emerged the winner of the Grand Prize of N2,000,000 courtesy of FCMB. The second prize was won by Team Abo Eko (Group 8) who took home N1,000,000.

According to the Team Lead, Techspace Ecosystem Business of FCMB, Babajide Asegbeloyin, FCMB has pledged its continued support to the development of Nigeria’s Techspace Ecosystem.

The security of any city is key and so it is understandable that Lagos, being the tech hub of the country, would make security a priority for stakeholders in its tech ecosystem. Hopefully, the winners of the #SecureLagosHackathon would fine-tune their projects with the cash prize won and provide innovative solutions to the issue of security in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole.
