Five Nigerians entrepreneurs have been shortlisted to be among the 12 African finalists that stand the chance to win the KWese TV’s $100,000 prize.

The #GoGettaz competition involves both profit and non-profit venture owners. It offers a $100,000 prize for the winners coupled with the opportunity to spend two weeks with Masiyiwa as ‘Kwesé Entrepreneur Fellows’ at Kwesé Inc’s offices in South Africa.

The competition was kicked off by Masiyiwa, a renowned businessman, entrepreneur, philanthropist and Chairman of Econet Group, owners of Kwesé TV on August 18.

The five Nigerian Finalists include Ezinne Uko, founder and CEO, Contrail Stores, Ltd, Olalekan Bankole Emmanuel, the founder and CEO Agromarketplace, Nigeria, Ltd, Shola Peter, founder, Chipmedic, Abisola Akindeinde, Co-founder, Zeldot.com and Pascal Akahome, the Founder and director, ART Improved Access Network.

 

Of the 12 finalists, 9 are owners of profit-oriented ventures and 3 are non-profit. The eventual winner will have garnered the highest shares on social media and the highest number of votes on KweseTv’s website.

Indeed, this is a noble initiative by the new entrants into the pay TV business in Nigeria. kwese’s founder, Strive Masiyiwa has been a renown advocate of #Afripreneur drive and successful business owner. This offers an opportunity for him to impart directly to many young people that look up to him.
