Meet Movemeback co-Founder Oyin Solebo, the new Managing Director of ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator

Oyin Solebo has been appointed as the new managing director of ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator, a Lagos-based initiative by Techstars that offers investment, mentorship, and a network to businesses.

Oyin Solebo’s new position entails overseeing the program’s operations and fostering strategic growth to find the most promising firms and founders while promoting gender equality.

She will also communicate with stakeholders and curate the most resourceful network of partners to assist participating startups in becoming successful companies and well-known brands worldwide,

As Oyin Solebo, who is also a co-founder of Movemeback, will be joining the ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator Program as the Managing Director, Jumoke Ogundare, Group CEO of ARM Holding Company, speaking on behalf of the management team, believes that Oyin Solebo will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure that startups benefit from the program’s expertise.

Oyin Solebo’s presence in the team will also assist the rapid innovation they support in the African startup ecosystem through this program, according to Jumoke Ogundare, who is also confident that this will help them achieve their goal of speedily and substantially boost the growth of African entrepreneurs.

Who is Oyin Solebo?

Oyin Solebo is an entrepreneurial leader with an investment management background, an Executive MBA with distinction from London Business School, and an Economics degree from the London School of Economics.

She began her investment career with Goldman Sachs and later became a Strategy Consultant with Roland Berger. She has over 15 years of expertise in strategic leadership, investment, and human capital development.

In 2014, she co-founded Movemeback, a Google-funded elite talent startup connecting professionals globally to African opportunities.

Oyin Solebo is also a global speaker on entrepreneurial social impact, diaspora engagement, and the future of work with a major focus on Africa.

Speaking on her new appointment as the Managing Director of ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator Program, she said,

Whilst talent is equally distributed, the opportunity is not. Nowhere is this more obvious than on the African continent. The ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator furthers Techstars’ mission to support entrepreneurs everywhere and give startups the capital and opportunities they need to succeed, regardless of their location or background – and I’m honored to be leading it.

The launch of the Lagos-based Techstars accelerator, now managed by Nigerian executive and entrepreneur Oyin Solebo, will give participating entrepreneurs better access to important local business and stakeholder connections necessary for their growth and success.

In April 2022, Techstars, a global investment company that offers early-stage entrepreneurs access to capital, individualized mentoring, and tailored training, announced a partnership with ARM Labs, a Lagos-based innovation program specializing in assisting fintech firms in starting the ARM Labs Lagos Techstars Accelerator Program.

The program’s main objective is to invest $120,000 each in 12 African early-stage fintech and proptech companies. It is also a 3-month batch program that will provide training and exclusive access to Techstars’ extensive network of top entrepreneurs from around the globe, including 20,000+ investors, 7,000+ mentors, and corporate partners.

Some startups that have benefitted from Techstars accelerator programs include Treepz, HealthTracka, and Smallsmall, among others.
