Did you see that video where Tobi Amusan was dancing to Buga after she won her 100m hurdles race and set a new record?

Hello guys, it’s another end of the week. Any exciting plans for the weekend?

This week has been quite eventful in the social space and as usual, we bring you the stories that caught our attention this week.

Team Nigeria’s buga

Did you see that video where Tobi Amusan was dancing to Buga after she won her 100m hurdles race and set a new record?

Well. it seems that not only Tobi now but the whole team of Nigeria have many reasons to Buga as they set several new records at the 2022 Commonwealth Games recently held in Birmingham.

Nigerian athletes brought in the Medals at an unprecedented rate while also setting new records and breaking old ones at the games. Team Nigeria won 12 gold medals — the country’s highest haul in the history of the Common Wealth Game, making Nigeria the number one African country with the highest medals at the sporting event.

Worthy of mention is the very obvious detail that all the gold medals were won by female athletes who showed up and showed out at the tracks and gymnasiums in Birmingham signing their names in commonwealth games history.

Nigeria finished the competition with 35 medals — 12 gold, 9 silver, and 14 bronze — to clinch seventh on the leaders’ table as the final day of activities wraps up. Athletics provided the most medals for Nigeria with 10 podium finishes, followed by wrestling with seven.

Congratulations to team Nigeria for bringing home the Gold and other medals… You have every reason to Buga!

Now, while team Nigeria has something to Buga about, after a great outing in Birmingham, someone else was arrested, for refusing to Buga amongst other reasons…

Buga crooner, Kizz Daniel arrested in Tanzania

Earlier this week, videos of Kizz Daniel being arrested made the rounds on social media with many calling the Buga crooner out for not performing at the show, a disappointing occurrence which provoked irate fans to thrash the show venue.

This led to Kizz Daniel being arrested or as some would say, brought in by the police for questioning.

Speaking on the issue, the show promoter, Steve Uwa in an Instagram live with Daddy freeze said Steven Uwa said that Kizz Daniel opted out of the show because the airline he flew with did not bring all his baggage.

The show promoter revealed that Kizz Daniel was booked for $60,000. He also revealed that he spent nothing less than $300,000 on the show because it was a premium event. He also lamented the flimsy reason the singer gave after he failed to perform and explained why he got him.

Concerning this recent incident, Kizz Daniel in a press briefing tendered his apology to the Tanzanian fans saying that ” “We agreed to put up a show on Friday. A free show. So, I will be partnering with Str8up Vibes.

“Also, I must apologise to the fans. None of this was intentional. I love my job. Mainly, I love performing. I didn’t mean to disrespect the fans. It was never intentional. I wanted to perform. I came to Tanzania to perform, but due to some circumstances way over my power, we couldn’t make that happen. I apologise once again to the people of Tanzania, and I hope you guys give me another chance to give you a show, to give you a proper show, a beautiful show,”

– Kiss Daniel said

Recall that sometime in June KIZZ Daniel showed up hours late for his show in a city in the US. And, when he took the stage, he was greeted by angry fans throwing objects at him in a bid to express their displeasure. This has caused many to speculate that as talented as Kizz may be, he needs better management or to be more disciplined and do better.

What do you think about Kizz Daniel and his seeming reluctance to Buga, after collecting full payment?

2baba Apologies to wife, Annie Idibia

Legendary singer, Innocent Ididbia popular known as 2baba has gone on Instagram to apologise to his wife Annie Idibia and also to his entire family, including the other women he has kids with.

He took to his Instagram to tender a heartfelt apology to his wife and others for being a “shitty father, husband, and baby daddy” and then expresses gratitude to Annie.

This unprovoked apology has led many to wonder what Tuface has done again with many speculating that he has probably impregnated someone, again but thankfully that isn’t the case.

The singer shared two apology posts. The first one reads: “This is no stunt.

“I’m sorry for all the embarrassment I’ve caused my wife, my kids, my mother and all our families and my management team. I’m not looking for no sympathy. I’m not trying to make myself look good. This is no reverse psychology bullshit…”

Then, some good news for the week…

Catholic Bishop Rejects Governor Ayade’s Gift

A Catholic Bishop, John Ebebe Ayah, has rejected money the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade wanted to give to him during a thanksgiving mass held last Sunday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ikot Ansa, Calabar.

In a trending video, the clergyman was heard telling the governor to use the money he intended to gift him to pay the salaries of civil servants in the state.

Ayade was a special guest of honour at the thanksgiving mass for Justice Emmanuel Agim Akomaye, who was recently promoted as a judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He was invited to make a donation in support of the church’s 2022 harvest unveiling.

After announcing the donation which he made on behalf of “the people of the state, the state government, his family, Chief Justice of Nigeria, and the entire judiciary”, the governor went on to hail the clergyman as the Pride of Northern Cross River.

He then stated that he has a “whisper” for the bishop afterwards.

In his response, Ayah told the governor that he wanted to express himself while saying they were brothers from the same senatorial district.

“I want to talk and I want to thank my amiable governor, he is my brother, we are both from the same part of the state. He will whisper to me later; whatever he wants to give to me, let him package together and pay his salaries,” Ayah said.
