Tech enhances existing ways of getting things done and saves time and effort across different areas of our lives. So, it’s just as important to list these events and draw you closer to the solutions they inspire and make happen.

We recommend you attend these tech-focused events this week (July 4 – 9, 2022):

Telecoms Sector Sustainability Forum

Nigerian Internet Service Providers (ISPs) industry has been one of particular interest to the telecommunications industry watchers. The forum seeks to address and examine the plight of Nigerian ISPs and their viability in a Digitized Environment.

Why is this important? ISPs help to bridge the internet access gaps in Nigeria and their very existence is expected to boost the country’s broadband penetration target of 70% by 2025.

Mr Okere said that he is elated by the feedback as they justify his contributions as an entrepreneur in residence over the years.
Tech events this week: The forum will focus on examining the viability of Nigerian ISPs in a digitized environment.

In June, the current number of ISPs in Nigeria increased to 190 as against over 200 originally licensed by the telecommunications regulator in the country, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). However, not all of them are actively providing services as the stiff competition in the industry has forced many out of business.

Updated statistics by NCC and findings revealed that the few playing are currently struggling hard to retain their market share due to the activities of the Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in the industry.

Business Remarks Team has put together the Telecoms Sector Sustainability Forum (TSSF) whose main edition will be specially focused on examining the viability of ISPs in a digitized environment.

At the event, stakeholders will particularly address issues militating against its growth, challenges leading to its demise, the market as a whole and other issues.

Expected to grace the event are the Executive Vice Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta, Director-General NITDA, Chief Executive Officers, and other concerned stakeholders.
