We can’t get enough of social media trends, just as we cannot get enough of tech solutions. They are a daily phenomenon that is why the week is usually busy. This week, inspiring our social media roundup, what drove conversations bothered Rihanna’s successful delivery, the viral video of women singing for their ‘lost’ husbands, updates on the ASUU strike and more.

The social media roundup is as interesting as it gets

Let’s go!

Viral video of ladies singing ‘carry me dey go my husband house’

This had to be the most significant trend of the week as it was the conversation across many social platforms. Skits were made, religious arguments came up, etc.

Gathered in what seemed like a church singing and clapping to the song “carry me dey go, baba carry me day go my husband house,” the women in the video seemed tired of waiting.

What did people say:

The AMVCA’S – award and fashion winners and the losers

The popular Eko Hotel and Suites was lit up by the stars, movers and shakers of the African film industry for the African Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards held on May 14, who stunned fans with their resplendent outfits and, well…some not so great outfits. There were also interesting wins too. Especially Sabinus winning the AMVCA award for “Best Online Social Content Creator”.

Let’s see what social media users had to say about the night.

Rihanna and ASAP Rocky welcome baby boy

Rihanna who was very popular for her bold pregnancy fashion has been hailed for changing the pregnancy fashion game with her risque, very revealing choice of clothes throughout her pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Don Jazzy took some stray bullets from Nigerian fans who trolled him that his crush, Rihanna, has welcomed a child that is not his.

But, the fun cannot be too much right?

LAUTECH management announce resumption but ASUU has other plans

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso branch has said lecturers at the university will not engage in any academic activities despite the management’s directive that students should resume next week.

The ASUU chairman, LAUTECH branch, Dr Biodun Olaniran, said lecturers at the university were part of the nationwide strike declared by ASUU, and they were not ready to abandon the cause except the national body of the union suspended the strike.

Students were disappointed as they thought LAUTECH’s resumption would push ASUU branches to pull out of the strike.

That’s all for the social media roundup for this week. We go again next week!
