Apostle Suleman Johnson made ‘holy gbola‘ trend
The week started with Stephanie Otobo, on Monday, May 9, making fresh accusations at the general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman.
In 2017, she posted about their torrid affair on social media, sharing details of their tryst in Italy and the USA. An accusation she later denied claiming politicians paid her to lie against him. This time, she is accusing him of trying to poison her.
“This man has done everything to end my life but God is not dead, this video is the complete story of how everything happened and how it’s going lately. I’ll release a comprehensive video of everything that happened and the answers to questions.”

Well wishes for Genevieve amidst mental health rumours
Popular gossip site, Gist Lover, this week, reported that Nollywood veteran, Genevieve Nnaji has been committed to a mental health facility in Texas for psychosis. The report is yet to be denied or confirmed but that didn’t stop fans from showering Nollywood’s favourite with prayers and wishes of quick recovery.
OAP, Uche Igwe, arrested for child porn distribution
Uche Igwe, an OAP with Metro FM Lagos, has been arrested and arraigned in court by the Lagos government for publishing the video of the Chrisland students incident which is considered child pornography.
Igwe has pleaded not guilty to the crime the prosecutor alleges was committed on April 18 on Twitter.
The Chief Magistrate, presiding over this case, Adeola Adedayo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of NGN10 million with three sureties in like sum.
Adedayo ruled that the sureties must submit their National Identification Numbers and their Lagos Residents Registration Agency cards.
The alleged offences contravene Section 24 (1) (a) (b) (i) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act of 2015, and Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Section 24 (1) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act of 2015 provides for 10 years’ imprisonment for cyberstalking.
Breach of the peace is punishable with three months jail term under Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.
When he posted the video, Igwe was asked to pull it down but he kept on for a while, and drew the ire of Nigerians. See a few reactions:
ASUU extends strike by 3 months
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended the ongoing strike by three months after the initial warning strike expired on Sunday, May 8.
ASUU president Prof Emmanuel Osodeke disclosed the union’s decision on Monday.
The strike which began February 14 has caused student protests in Benin, OAU, UNILAG and Unilorin students have also marched against a strike that may not end yet, asking the Federal Government and ASUU to stop the back and forth and allow students resume their classes.
Yul Edochie’s first wife finally speaks
The first wife of popular Nollywood actor and presidential aspirant, May Yul Edochie has finally spoken about her husband’s marriage to a second wife.
Her statement came after her estranged husband, Yul Edochie, shared a video of both of them happily dancing to music in the car.
In her statement, May stated that her “family and faith ABSOLUTELY do not practise polygamy although.
She also made it clear that the video shared by her estranged husband is an old video.
“My phones are buzzing once again due to the OLD video trending online today. My family and faith ABSOLUTELY do NOT practice polygamy, although it works for some people,” May said.
