FG’s Digital Economy Project

This Monday, The Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital economy will be hosting a public launch of the National Policy on Virtual Engagement in the Public Service.

The honourable Minister, Dr Isa Pantami will also be Commissioning four Digital Economy Projects across the country.

The projects include the Emergency Communications Centre in Akure, Ondo State; the Digital Economy Centre, Delta State University; Digital Economy Centre, Government Secondary School, Kaduna and Digital Economy Centre, Federal University, Gashua, Yobe Stae.

Microsoft: AI for Good in Healthcare

This week as part of the Catalyst Tech Accelerator Programme, the National Director for Artificial Intelligence, Health & Life Sciences at Microsoft, Tom Lawry will be presenting a webinar on AI in healthcare advances.

The event will provide great insights and understanding of the importance of using AI tools in this new data-heavy world. It will also show how AI can be used as a force for good in the world, and the future of our relationship with AI.

Mobility Systems in sub-Saharan Africa

This Thursday, Emergency Manager’s Weekly will be hosting a webinar on how mobility systems in sub-Saharan Africa meet the public health challenges posed by COVID-19.

This event is being held to mark the release of a policy brief jointly authored by the Migration Policy Institute and Columbia University’s Program on Forced Migration and Health. 

During the conversation, the panel will look back at the last year and reflect on how mobility have adapted to meet the public health challenges posed by the pandemic. It will also discuss what lessons can be learned for the future.

It will also include interviews with experts in public health and migration management on the continent over the last year.

Careers in Space event

On Saturday, SpaceHub Africa will be hosting a career webinar focused on the African space industry. It will highlight the experiences of some professionals currently working in the African space industry.

The professionals will narrate how they got involved in space, what they currently do, and find out how you can get involved in the industry.

There will also be a short presentation from each speaker followed by a panel discussion on the industry.
