Termii goes live in Ivory Coast two months after raising $1.4m seed funding

Nigerian Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) startup, Termii has officially launched in Ivory Coast. The startup announced this in a blog statement.

“We’re constantly improving our messaging solution to help businesses conveniently reach and engage their customers across Africa, and we’re super excited to announce our fully operational route in Ivory Coast,” the statement reads.

Termii’s entry into the Ivory coast comes just two months after it closed a $1.4 million seed round to drive its expansion across Africa.

Following the raise, CEO, Gbolade Emmanuel had disclosed that the startup would leverage the capital to launch in more countries on the continent, citing Algeria as one of the likely destinations.

With the addition of its second francophone African market, Termii is now fully operational in Nigeria, Morocco, Kenya, Ghana and Ivory Coast.

Termii eases customer interaction for businesses by enabling communications and verifications across channels like SMS, voice, email and WhatsApp.

Ivory Coast has about 20,000 formal SMEs, according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ivory Coast (CCI-CI).

The startup’s API platform currently serves more than 1,000 businesses across Africa and over 500 fintech startups including Piggyvest, uLesson, Bankly, Helium Health, Paga, and TeamApt.
