Tech Events this Week: The Future of Startups in Africa, Global RegTech Summit and Others

Global RegTech Summit
This week, FinTech Global will be hosting a three-day virtual event to connect the global RegTech community and explore the latest innovation in the sector.
The event will cover the latest strategies compliance, risk management and information security execs from financial institutions. It will also look at what RegTech companies are undertaking in 2021 to combat the latest challenges post Covid-19.
The event is expected to host over 1,500 execs including senior-level leaders working in financial institutions, innovation, compliance, risk management, technology, digital and customer experience.

This week, Reesby will be kickstarting its annual hackathon. The event will host teams of 3-7, which will develop ideas around areas like AI algorithm, app, website and hardware. The organisers will provide teams with advisors, seminars and plenty of entertaining activities throughout the hackathon
The event will be hosted virtually using a combination of Twitch and Discord. And the winners will get a $1.5K value prize bundle while the runners up get $1k value prize bundle.

UCT GSB Solution Space Webinar
This Wednesday, UCT GSB Solution Space will kickoff its knowledge-sharing webinar series to engage with ecosystem experts and discuss developments within the startup space.
The first session is themed “The Future of Startups in Africa” and will host a panel of speakers from diverse sectors within the startup ecosystem including research and data, corporate-startup collaboration, accelerations and development and business support.
The event will host experts like Mbali Ndandani, Africa IT Marketing and Digital Transformation at Unilever; Chris Hosken, Co-Founder & CEO at Startup School; and Emmanuel Ibe, Co-Founder & CEO at StartupList Africa.

This week, East Africa Com will be hosted virtually. The event will explore the biggest trends this year, with top industry experts and inspiring leaders.
