Applications for the latest cohort of the 2021 Anzisha Prize fellowship program are currently open to young African entrepreneurs. The Anzisha prize program is the product of a partnership between the African Leadership Academy and the Mastercard Foundation.
Successful candidates would be admitted into the program and stand a chance of winning their share of the $100,000 Anzisha prize.
Despite the disruptive impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, youths across Africa continue to find ways to create sustainable solutions to some of the biggest problems faced by their communities. The Anzisha prize program presents an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to develop leadership skills and access funds to grow their businesses.
Applicants must be between 15 and 22 years old with an ID document or Passport to present as evidence.
Applicants must be nationals of an African country with a business based in Africa for African customers. The Anzisha Prize isn’t awarded for great ideas or business plans – candidates must have already started a business and be able to prove it.
Entrepreneurs running businesses in any field or industry including science and technology, civil society, arts and culture, sports etc are welcome to apply.
Individuals who apply must be one of the founding members of a business. For example, the individual applicant could be one of 2 or 3 co-founders who started up the project together.
