Nigeria’s most technology-driven company, GIG Group has commenced its GIG Management Acceleration Program (GMAP) to develop a new generation of business leaders through active mentorship system.
This includes a systemic selection of individuals with promising prospects and strategic placement within the system for hands-on learning and execution. This mentorship system is characteristic of the silicon valley and other leading hubs across the globe.
The GIG Group is an indigenous technology, investment and intelligence-driven company leading tech-enabled innovation across subsidiaries in key sectors of the economy including transportation, finance, energy and logistics.
Launched in 2020, the GMAP is currently open for applications until February 15, 2021. GMAP was developed to attract and train highly motivated candidates who are interested in the mobility industry and want to pursue a career in the GIG Group.
This edition is designed to admit candidates for employment into the Terminal Operations Manager role within GIG Mobility (GIGM).
The GMAP would be powered by the GIG Learning Academy (GLA), the learning and development powerhouse of the GIG Group. GLA serves as a platform to recruit and train highly skilled individuals for eventual employment into leadership roles in GIG Mobility.
For almost a decade, the GLA has driven a culture of excellence and efficiency across all subsidiaries through various initiatives and learning interventions. The academy plays a very pivotal role in managing employee development within the GIG Group, leveraging a blend of knowledge management that is unique to the team’s operations.
Eligibility
GMAP is designed to ensure that the very best talents are engaged to continually drive operational excellence within the organisation.
Therefore, eligible candidates must possess the following qualifications:
• A graduate degree from a reputable tertiary institution
• Cognate leadership experience of not less than 4 years from recognizable companies

• Great written and verbal communication skills
How It Works
The GMAP is a two-month leadership acceleration program which includes a selection process and bouts of intense capacity development sessions.
For candidates to begin the application process, log on to gmap.gigm.com.
Click on the “Take Our Assessment” tab to proceed to the next stage. Here, enter personal information including your full name, email address, mobile number and state.
Also upload your CV in PDF or MS Word document format (.docx/.doc). Other formats such as Excel (.xls), Powerpoint (.ppt), and .txt are not accepted. Tap “Submit” to continue.
This leads to the GMAP assessment page. There are a total of 24 questions grouped under four different sections – Cognitive Ability (6), Deductive Reasoning (7), Logical Reasoning (2) and Situation judgement (9). Candidates are given a maximum of 20 minutes to answer all questions.
Select “finish” to complete the GMAP assessment. This marks the end of the first stage of the GMAP recruitment. Candidates who successfully scale through the assessment will be required to complete a documentation process where KYC is conducted and their documents are ratified.
The next stage is a one-month long training where candidates will undertake several modules of competence-based training to develop them to function optimally in the role.
Post-training, a final screening process takes place in which an assessment is conducted to retain candidates who meet required specifications.
This leads to the final stage of the GMAP recruitment where successful candidates are officially offered engagement and deployed accordingly.
