The UK Nigeria Tech Hub has announced the appointment of former Ventures Platform Director of Partnerships and Engagement, Lamide Johnson as its Deputy Country Director.
Johnson brings with him nearly 9 years of experience supporting entrepreneurs in the tech and innovation space. He will be working with a team of tech enthusiasts to help build the Nigerian tech ecosystem by designing and implementing digital skills programmes to drive sustainable jobs and growth as well as forging partnerships between the UK and tech startups in Nigeria.
UK-Nigeria Tech Hub is a new organization by the UK government that keys into one of the four critical pillars of the UK government’s Prosperity Fund Programme. Its aim is to help develop the Nigerian tech ecosystem.
Speaking about the appointment, Lamide Johnson said, “I’m very excited to join the team at the UK Nigeria Tech Hub as we continue to support and develop the Nigerian tech ecosystem.”
About Lamide
Lamide is passionate about helping entrepreneurs make huge positive changes.
He was trained in Business and Entrepreneurship at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA. Johnson is also a Mandela Washington Fellow and a Gates Foundation Goalkeeper.
In his latest role prior to joining UK Nigeria Tech Hub, Johnson held the position of Director of Partnerships and Engagement at Ventures Platform where he managed strategic partnerships efforts. Johnson also held the position of Chief of Staff to Kola Aina.
He has authored four books.
