Meet Stjepan Udovicic, 9mobile’s New Chief Commercial Officer

Stjepan Udovicic, a seasoned business growth professional, has been appointed as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) of 9mobile by the Board of Directors of Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services Limited (EMTS), which trades as 9mobile.

A statement released by the company stated, “Udovicic led various multinational teams in Cambodia, Croatia, Indonesia, Slovenia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the USA. He had also worked with Etisalat as Customer Experience Director, spending time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UAE.”

At 9mobile, Udovicic’s key responsibilities would include leading commercial operations, sales, marketing strategy and brand development. He would also be in charge of customer relations and digital front-end operations.

Stjepan Udovicic joins 9mobile as CCO from Smart Axiata Group in Cambodia, where he led the team in all commercial operations including commercial strategy, goal setting and execution as well as marketing and company brand development.

Speaking on Udovicic’s appointment, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 9mobile, Alan Sinfield expressed confidence in Udovicic’s ability to deliver as CCO, citing his wealth of experience and know-how.

“Stjepan is a thoroughbred professional with a can-do spirit which is at the core of who we are at 9mobile. We are an adventurous brand, always pushing the limits of innovation, so Stjepan has come right into his home. I am confident he will play a significant role in further strengthening 9mobile’s market position in Nigeria’s competitive telecommunications industry,” he said.

Stjepan Udovicic, CCO of 9mobile

Before joining Axiata, Udovicic had served as Marketing Director of Orange, Romania from 2012 till 2016. He oversaw marketing strategy and operations including B2B and B2C propositions, product marketing, hardware sourcing, pricing, customer analytics/intelligence and customer retention.

Udovicic had a short stint at Mobily Saudi Arabia, where he worked as a Director of Customer Experience for just over a year. He had previously served as General Manager, Pricing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Customer Insights at PT AXIS Telekom Indonesia.

He has a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Stjepan Udovicic has stated that he was delighted to join 9mobile as the CCO and was looking forward to using his expertise to accelerate further access to quality products and services for telecoms subscribers in Nigeria.
