This week the Data Science Conference on COVID-19 will hold virtually. During the event, data experts will showcase open source technology and code used to model and analyze the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will also highlight best practices and explore epidemic models of the virus and the pandemics affect on the economy, transportation, the environment, the society and beyond.

The Lagos state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will be hosting its 7th Lagos Public Relations Stakeholders’ Conference virtually.

Engineering Evolution

This event was organised by Imperial College Centre for Synthetic Biology to discuss the breakthrough and next steps in engineering evolution.

During the webinar, experts from synthetic biology and rhetoric of science will be discussing how to control and harness evolution when engineering biology.

The event will also feature 3 scientific talks from leaders in engineering and evolution: Phil Holliger (LMB Cambridge) – “Synthetic genetics: beyond DNA and RNA”; Tami Lieberman (MIT) – “Using de novo mutations to understand microbial ecology on the skin”; Chang Liu (UC Irvine) – “Synthetic Genetic Systems for Rapid Mutation and Continuous Evolution in vivo”
