On Tuesday, stakeholders across Nigeria’s financial space will come together to discuss accelerating Financial Inclusion through collaboration. The event was organised by Shared Agent Network Expansion Facilities Limited (SANEF) in collaboration with Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement Systems (NIBSS).

The goal of the webinar is not only to discuss financial Inclusion but to also sustain the coalition for the advancement of Financial Inclusion through collaboration amongst all the relevant stakeholders.

The event will be co-hosted by Premier Oiwoh, MD/CEO, NIBSS and Ronke Kuye, MD/CEO, SANEF. The special guest is Aisha Ahmad, Deputy Governor, Financial Systems Stability, Central Bank of Nigeria, the Keynote speech will be taken by Segun Agbaje, Managing Director/CEO, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

The panel for the discussion includes Dr Paul Oluikpe, Associate Head, Financial Inclusion Secretariat, CBN and Robert Giles, Senior Banking Advisor, Retail Banking Access Bank Plc among others.

NBS Leveraging Data Webinar

This week, the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in partnership with Softcom Ltd will be hosting a webinar on “Leveraging Data to Drive Inclusive Policy, Revenue Generation & Improved Governance.”

The event will be looking at the different ways data can be used to improve policy, increase revenue generation and improve governance in the country. The key speakers at the event include Dr (Mrs) Zainab Ahmed, Honorable Minister of Finance, Budget & National Planning and Dr Yemi Kale, Statistician-General National Bureau of Statistics.

The webinar will also host a panel comprising of Dr Sarah Alade, Special Advisor to the President on Finance and Economy, and Shubham Chaudhuri, Country Director World bank among others.

GSMA 5G Handguide

Debunking the conspiracies of the link between 5G and COVID-19, GSMA has released a handy guide to 5G, electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure and 5G safety.

Later this week, GSMA will host a webinar describing the international EMF exposure guidelines that were updated in March 2020. It will also highlight its implications for operators and policymakers.

Scientific explanations and pointers as to why the Independent public health agencies say that no health risks for the use of 5G and mobile technologies complying with the international limits will also be discussed.

Empowering Women in Tech – AI and Data

On Monday, female tech leaders from across the continent will come together to discuss their careers in AI and Data Science. They will also share their stories and experiences about their journeys to becoming tech leaders.

The event was organised by IBM Digital to empower a diverse, inclusive and equal work in a global tech community. Themed “Hack your way to the next AI & Data Science Career!”, the webinar will feature inspired Tech talks, career discussions and IBM initiatives deployed to confront global issues like COVID19, natural disasters, global warming, and much more.

The event will host Dilek Durman, Executive CTO Denizbank, Sara Noeman, Data Scientist and Technical team lead IBM among other female AI leaders from across Africa.

Data Privacy Law and Digital Strategy in Africa

This event was organised by Hogan and Lovells to discuss the current data privacy law and digital strategy across the continent. Data experts and other stakeholders will attend a panel session where the intricacies of data privacy will be dissected to shed more light on it.

The webinar will host Olufemi Daniel, Lead Regulations Monitoring and compliance, NITDA Nigeria and Mamoudou Niane, Head of Legal Affairs CDP Senegal among others.

Energy as a Service (EaaS) Webinar

This event was organised for manufacturing and construction companies and the associated supply chain interested in Energy as a Service (EaaS) business. The webinar aims to find partners that can develop and expand their Energy as a Service (EaaS) business which provides a turn-key energy solution to operators of cell tower installations.

Hosted by Essex Chamber of Commerce in partnership with EKT, the event will highlight organisations that offer technical capabilities relative to the expansion of the EaaS offering, have access to the financial expertise and the capital to help finance the expansion of the service.

An overview of the project will be presented and there will also be an opportunity to ask questions from the advisor.
