Similar to last week, most events will still hold virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic still spreading across the world. We have curated a list of some of the major virtual events you could attend. These events come up between July 6 and July 11, 2020.

How to Valuate African Startups Webinar

Business and technology experts from Nigeria and across the African tech space will be coming together to discuss how to value African Startups.

The event which will be hosted by Diaspora Angel will enlighten investors and entrepreneurs about how to overcome challenges like paucity of data and competing variable in Africa business landscape when evaluating a startup.

The event will host Kola Aina of Ventures Platform, Tomi Davies of Lagos Angel Network among other experts across the continent. The moderator will be Gerrad Olis Ashar, Co-founder of the Diaspora Angel Network.

Cybersecurity for remote and dispersed teams

This event was organised by Genius Business School to teach businesses how to enable cybersecurity for remote and dispersed teams in the new norm of remote working.

HiiT Online Digital Training

Foremost ICT training provider, HiiT PLC is organising an online training to teach students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria digital skills. To make the training affordable, the company is offering a scholarship of up to N20 million, with each selected trainee getting up to 75% discount.

The training will be carried out online by seasoned instructors who are proficient in virtual, interactive and illustrative teaching. The courses on offer include Digital Marketing, Web Design, Digital Literacy, Cisco Certified Network Associate, Python programming and many others.

The training will start on Monday and run continuously over the coming months.

Trading relationship in Africa Post-COVID19

This week, high-level policy experts, institutional stakeholders, seasoned entrepreneurs and investors across Africa will come together to explore the trading and investment opportunities on the continent post-COVID19. This will include prospects for trade under the newly inaugurated African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCTA).

The event which was organised by AfroChamber and FGV EAESP will also look at trading opportunities under regional value chain frameworks and how to navigate the potential for entrepreneurial investments in Africa.

The webinar will host Albert M. Muchanga, Hon. Commissioner for Trade and Industry, African Union; Wamkele K. Mene Hon. Secretary-General of the AfCTA among others.
