Child Online Safety

This event was organised by Child Online Africa and Africa Telecommunications Union to have a discussion about the online safety of African children and by extension families.

The webinar aims to increase awareness and make safety at social and professional levels. Stakeholders will also discuss what is being done and what policies there are in Africa for the safety and protection of children online.

The event will host specialists and professionals like Mr John Omo Secretary-General ATU, Mr Fred Lane, Lecturer, author and expert in cybersafety and technology among others.

Novel approaches for data use in the COVID-19 response.

This week, the Data Science & A.I. Summits for Health (DASH) will be hosting a webinar where different speakers will be highlighting various novel approaches for data use in the COVID-19 response.

Some of the key issues data scientists and policy experts will discuss are the importance of data for informed decision-making. They will also look into the opportunities and challenges of acquiring data as well as the ethical and regulatory implications of their use.

The event will be hosted by Bruno Villetelle, Head of Data and Digital Global Drug Development at Novartis. One of the speakers Sekou Remy, a research assistant from IBM Research Africa will be talking about the rise of AI in the fight against Malaria.
