COVID-19 and its Effect on Education

COVID-19 happens to have disrupted all sectors, from hospitality to logistics to education. An edtech startup, ScholarX, wants to hold discussions around the effects of the lockdown on education.

The startup will be discussing the effect of the virus on education. And the startup is inviting players in the education space including teachers, to share their experiences and how they dealt with the disruption to their daily activities.

Africa SME Survival Series

This event wants to provide a platform for Africa’s most experienced entrepreneurs to share insights, practical tips and case studies to help our growing community of SMEs to survive, pivot and thrive – even amid the lockdown.

This is the 3rd event in the series and it will be focused on “Business Modelling/Ecosystem Building.” It will also feature industry stakeholders like Zeepay, founder, Andrew Takyi-Appiah; African Tech Convener, Ammin Youssif of Afrobytes and Investor, Erick Yong.

Jur Legaltech Webinar

This will be the first webinar by Jur, a blockchain-based ecosystem together with Africa Innovation and Legal Tech Academy. The event will introduce participants to the notions of Smart Legal Contract theory.

The event will also introduce the topic of legal technology activity in Africa, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.

GIRLS IN ICT DAY 2020

In a bid to mark the International Girls in ICT Day, Smart Girls Tech Team alongside Smart Kids Zone and SAGE Nigeria will host an online dialogue on Girls in ICT: Inspiring the Next Generation

The online dialogue will highlight the importance of government engagement in empowering women through technology. It will also draw attention to role models and mentors and how they can inspire girls and young women to take up careers in the tech field.
