Fifteen days into the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, Abuja and some other states, many SMEs are being burdened with the question of how to ensure they provide their services to customers nationwide. Businesses and individuals in Nigeria rely on transport and logistics services to get their goods/services to customers.
Prior to these, some have relied on traditional inter-state bus transport services to render these services. But with the restriction of movement in some states, it means this might not be effective any longer.
So what would they do? Pause business for the period of this COVID-19 pandemic, with no set timeline? Turn to logistics startups with a nationwide cover to continue their business?
For SMEs, the latter seems to be the most viable option. Here is a non-definitive list of logistics services that can help with your deliveries during this period.
GIGLogistics

United Parcel Service (UPS) is a multinational package delivery and supply chain management company. With a strong presence in Nigeria, UPS allows users to place shipments from any origin to any destination.
Users can place orders for the collection of their parcels from their location. They can also drop off the package at any nearby UPS location. While being shipped, users can track the movement and progress of their shipment until it reaches the desired destination.
DHL
DHL is another international delivery service that has confirmed it is still running during this lockdown period. Like the other aforementioned services, the company lets users ship their goods to other areas.
It allows for various kinds of delivery setups including an emergency same-day delivery should you be in a rush. Shipments can be placed on the company’s site, which allows users to schedule a pickup. Users can also walk into any of its outlets to drop their packages for pickup.
