As physical events around the world are canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of event conveners have been exploring the virtual-only medium. This has seen online events on the continent popping up both near and wide.

We at Technext have in turn compiled some of the online events happening this week that might be beneficial to you or your startup. These events come up between April 13 – 19, 2020.

Merging Tech and Healthcare 

Organised by a tech hub called The Bulb Africa through its ALLoverCOVID19, this webinar wants to bring together IT Gurus and Industry Professionals to discuss the potentials of tech in healthcare.

The panel will be chaired by Modupe Durosinmi-Etti, Program Manager at The Bulb Africa.

Industry Insight: COVID-19 and the MSME landscape

Wande Adams, Team Lead at the Bulb Africa will be hosting a webinar session on Zoom with Victor Aluyi, Head of Portfolio Management at Comercio Partners. Damilola Runsewe, Senior Manager of SME Segment Management at MTN will also be in that panel.

The session which had its first edition last week Friday will be completed this week with closing remarks and townhall Q&A.

TC Live: Building in Tough Times

Tech Media platform, TechCabal will be holding the first edition of its live series with CEO of uLesson, Sim Shagaya on the theme “Building in Tough Times”.

Building in Tough Times, Design Thinking and Other Virtual Tech Events This Week

This will see the founder speak on the survival of startups during this COVID-19 crisis as well as answer questions from attendees.

AfricaVsVirus Challenge 2020

The African Development Bank (AfDB) is organizing a 72-hour hackathon for youths across Africa to create tech and non-tech solutions to some of the challenges arising due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The online hackathon event is open to socially committed citizens worldwide, problem solvers, creatives, health experts, programmers etc.

Date: Friday, April 17 – Sunday, April 19, 2020.
