Ventures Platform Director of Partnerships and Engagement, Lamide Johnson has announced that he has stepped down from his role at the company.
“Saying goodbye is perhaps one of the toughest things to ever do, especially if it is a community you love. Yesterday was my last day at Ventures Platform,” Lamide said.
“I am transitioning out of my role as the Director of Partnerships and Engagement. It has been 3 years of learning, growing, making mistakes & relearning, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the process,” he finished.
A leading source of capital, capacity building, support and advocacy for startups, Ventures Platform serves entrepreneurs, communities and institutions across Africa.
Lamide Johnson joined the company in 2017 as Chief of Staff. He worked for a period of 2 years in that capacity. After the reshuffling last year when Kola Aina stepped down as Executive Director, Lamide became the Director, Partnerships and Engagement.
He took over from Mimshach Obioha, who succeeded Kola Aina as Executive Director. In his new role, he was to lead the efforts in forging and managing strategic partnerships across Ventures Platform (VP) initiatives – the Fund, the Foundation and the Hub.
Now, 10 months after, he will be leaving this role to venture into other things outside Ventures Platform.
Prior to Ventures Platform, he had worked as Program Manager at African Community Bridge Foundation where he implemented Entrepreneurial Development Programs in North Central Nigeria. He had also worked as Human Resource and Logistics Officer at African University of Science and Technology, Abuja.
Congratulations Lamide Johnson, all the best going forward!
