OPPO has finally launched its latest flagship smartphone devices, the OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro today. The launch was initially billed to happen at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona but was rescheduled after the congress was cancelled over coronavirus fears. Both devices are 5G enabled.
The OPPO Find Series have always been OPPO’s most innovative product series yet. As such both devices were made with quite a lot to look forward to from the brand. According to OPPO’s Vice President Shen Yiren, they are some of the best smartphones in the world for the first half of 2020.
Both devices pack almost the same specs, but of course, the Pro variant has a few additional tricks up its casing to edge the OPPO Find X2.
Both devices come with a sleek and well-curved design. On the back is the three-camera setup that is arranged vertically in the top left corner. This is quite a contrast to the rotatable cameras deployed in the Find X.
Each device comes with 6.7-inch QHD+ (1440×3168 pixel) curved displays, and a small notch for the 32-megapixel front-facing camera. The screen comes with a very bright display with a 120Hz refresh rate known as Ultra Vision Screen which is also battery sensitive. Each device can show up to a billion colours.
With very good displays, the OPPO Find X2 and X2 Pro devices are packed with full-band stereo speakers supported with Dolby Atmos.
For the cameras, according to Shen, they were made with 2 sets of people in mind – the daily users and professional users. Although both devices have the 3 camera line up, the specs are quite different.
The OPPO Find X2 Pro has two 48mp sensors: ultra-wide, wide-angle, and a 13mp periscope zoom camera. The Find X2 has a 48mp main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra wide-angle camera, and 13mp telephoto camera.
The Find X2 Pro also comes with the exclusive and brand-new flagship Sony IMX689 sensor. This allows for better and perfect pictures as well as enhanced night time shots.
The cameras also come with Ultra night mode 3.0, ultra dark mode and a 10X zoom. They also have enhanced video abilities allowing for live HDR in video and noise reduction as well as basic video editing features.
As regards the processor, both devices are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 and the X55 5G modem. They both also pack 12GB of RAM while there’s 128GB of storage space for Find X2 and 512GB for the Pro variant.
As a standard, both come with the IP68 dust and waterproofing rating. As such, they can be underwater for up to 30 minutes. The OPPO Find X2 Pro comes with 4,260mAh battery that can be fully charged in 38 minutes with the OPPO SuperVOOC 2.0 charging tech. The Find X2, on the other hand, comes with a slightly smaller 4,200mAh battery but the same charging tech.
Both devices are Android 10 and OPPO’s ColorOS 7.1 enabled.
The Find X2 Pro will cost N496k (1199 Euros) while the Find X2 will only cost N413k (999 Euros). Both devices are set to be available by early May.
