Lagos-based startup studio, Ceedcap has become the first African startup studio to join the Global Startup Studio Network (GSSN).

The Lagos-based company is a venture platform that focuses on getting quality ideas that can be turned into profitable products for entrepreneurs.

According to the company, its model is different from other venture builders and accelerators. As a venture capital company, it builds, funds and launches high-growth African Internet startups.

“We offer early-stage startup investors portfolio and risk diversification. Our studio model means higher success rate for investors looking for viable startups to invest with.

The addition of Ceedcap into the Global Startup Studio Network will help the venture company in its goal of becoming the leading venture builder impacting investors in Africa.

“Digital inclusion through early-stage investment is a channel to unlock next-generation opportunity and bridge the poverty gap for Africa,” Managing Partner, Kessiena Majemite says.

GSSN provides access to investors and makes it easy for startups and studios within the network to get funding and collaborate for better products. The portfolio companies of GSSN, which includes those of its startup studios, have access to its corporate partners.

Because GSSN is a subsidiary of GAN community of accelerators, partners and investors, a major benefit for Ceedcap is that startups in its portfolio will be able to visit any GSSN Studio or GAN accelerator anywhere in the world for up to two weeks.

The startups in Ceedcap’s portfolio can also request for mentorship or funding from the GAN Venture Fund. The venture fund is an early-stage investment vehicle to help startups accelerate growth.

Through GSSN, Ceedcap will focus on helping entrepreneurs execute their ideas and hit their target goals. This takes venture capitalism beyond investing and expecting returns, the startup studio will make available its resources, its management and its funding to ensure entrepreneurs overcome business challenges in executing targets.

Ceedcap

According to Nick Zasowski, Director of GSSN, this growth-centric focus is a big part of what has qualified Ceedcap to be the first startup studio to join the network from Africa.

“GSSN is not for everyone, and rightfully so. GSSN Studios represent the world’s most respected studios as well as some of the most inspiring pioneers working to grow startup ecosystems in unexpected places. And this credibility benefits us all”

Nick Zasowski, Director, GSSN.

With Ceedcap’s addition, more portfolio companies and more impact investment will subsequently become evident in the studio’s operations.
