    All You Need to Know About Honey Ogundeyi, New Country Director of UK-Nigeria Tech Hub


    UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, a new organisation by the UK government, has appointed Honey Ogundeyi as its new country director. Honey herself made the revelation on her social media, where she also announced her acceptance.

    A 2020 update…

    I’m pleased to share that I’ve have accepted to serve as the Country Director of the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, a new hub by the UK Government #DCMS. I look forward to further contributing & supporting the growth of the tech sector in Nigeria.

    The UK-Nigeria Tech Hub is a new initiative which keys into one of the four critical pillars of the UK government’s Prosperity Fund Programme. Its aim is to help develop the Nigerian tech ecosystem.

    In 2014, Ogundeyi founded Fashpa, an e-commerce site that designs and sells its products online as well as in stores. The startup also sells fashion and lifestyle brands from the international markets to Nigerians. Honey Ogundeyi has served as its CEO since its establishment.

    Honey Ogundeyi is also an ex-Google staff, serving as an Industry Manager from February 2012 to March 2014. She was also the commercial lead for Google Nigeria.

    Google Nigeria

    Before Google, she worked at Ericsson from 2009 to 2012 where she held various positions. She joined in 2009 as a senior Business Consultant before moving to the Global Brand Management Department where she worked as the Brand Capability Manager from September 2010 to 2011.

    Still at Ericsson, Ogundeyi became the regional Head of Brand Management for Sub-Saharan Africa. In her role, she organized and led the rollout of new brand strategies for Ericsson in the Sub-Saharan region.

    Honey Ogundeyi worked as a Senior Analyst with Mckinsey & Company from February 2006 to January 2009. She also worked in the banking sector as an Associate with the United Bank for Africa (UBA) Group and Heirs Alliance in Lagos.

    She began her secondary education at Queens College, Yaba, but completed it at Alexandra College in Dublin, Ireland. She went on to bag a degree in Public Policy and Management from the University of Birmingham.

    Listed in 2016 by the World Economic Forum as one of the top 10 innovators in Africa as well as 10 most influential young Nigerians under 40 in Technology, Honey Ogundeyi is a goal-setter and achiever with a lot of experience under her belt.

    In her role as the Country Director for the UK-Nigeria Tech hub, Ogundeyi is expected to bring all her experience to the table. She will be expected to help achieve the goal of driving partnerships and collaboration within the Nigerian tech ecosystem.
