Prominent ride-hailing company, Bolt, has appointed Femi Akin-Laguda as Bolt Country Manager for its operations in Nigeria.

Before this appointment, Akin-Laguda served as the city manager for Lagos, where he introduced an identity verification portal for drivers and riders. At his new post, Akin-Laguda would lead Bolt’s operational and expansion drive across Nigeria.

Bolt’s Regional Manager for West Africa, Uche Okafor expressed delight at the appointment of Akin-Laguda, describing the performance of the new Bolt country manager in previous roles as stellar.

Meet Femi Akin-Laguda

Femi Akin-Laguda is a business analyst and Strategist with over 4 years experience. He helped develop strategies and operations in his former roles at Bolt as well as his former employers, Lacare.

Prior to his appointment as Bolt country manager, Akin-Laguda had worked for the ride-hailing company for over 3 years. He served as Operations Specialist in 2016, Supply Operations Manager in 2017, Operations Manager in 2018 and most recently City Manager for Lagos in 2019.

Before joining Bolt, Akin-Laguda worked as an eCommerce Consultant at Lacare Business Solutions. He also served as a Management Trainee at Benin Electricity Distribution Company and also Co-founded the Defunct Project GRdC Nigeria.

Femi Akin-Laguda has worked for Bolt for over 3 years

Femi Akin-Laguda has a degree in Information Technology from the University of Ghana and a Nanodegree in Business Analytics from Udacity. He is also a certified Management consultant.

In Nigeria, Bolt is currently active in 11 states after expanding to 6 new cities in 2019. With the experience and innovation Akin-Laguda offers at the helm of leadership, Bolt is poised to strengthen its operations in new cities and drive further expansions.
