CcHub Co-founder, Femi Longe Quits as Director After 9 Years

CcHub Co-founder, Femi Longe Quits as Director After 9 Years

The co-founder of Co-Creation Hub, Femi Longe has announced his departure from his role as the Director of Innovation in the Hub, after 9 years at the technology-oriented centre.

The decision was made known in a tweet by Longe. According to him, the start of a new decade was a fitting time to leave and take on a new challenge.

After 9 years of active service, in 2019 I called time on my day-to-day involvement at CcHub.

The dawn of the new decade is a fitting time to take on a new challenge. Here's what I am working on next @QiestoApp https://t.co/K1gZEpHZ5N

    — Femi Longe (@femilonge) January 1, 2020

In 2010, Femi Longe together with Bosun Tijani founded the Co-creation Hub (CcHub) as a platform where technology-oriented people will share ideas and solve social problems in Nigeria using technology.

After 9 years with CcHub, Longe believes the exploits of the Hub has made Yaba the ground zero for tech in Nigeria by providing the innovators with the push and support to tackle big problems like government corruption and waste management.

Cc-Hub co-founder, Femi Longe has left his post as Director of Innovation at the Hub

Longe explained that it was time for him to face a new challenge of raising Africa’s youth employability, which he has been enthusiastic about for the past two years.

To help with his new challenge, Longe has empowered himself with a research-based Masters in Education Technology/Learning Science at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research affiliated to the University of Paris.

According to Longe, over 50% of university graduates are unemployed, he added that he believed the root of the problem and the solution lies in education with digital technology as a critical platform for scale.

50% of the 10m young people who leave African universities annually do not find work despite the growing trend of employers finding difficulty in filling positions.

Qiesto is Femi’s new platform to help raise youth employability

With this solution in mind, Longe introduced Qiesto, a platform he explained will allow young people to use and showcase their competencies as a pathway to meaningful jobs, further studies or entrepreneurship.

According to Longe, challenges for young Nigerians are already being commissioned from organisations around the world and the platform will be launch in the coming month.
