Burna Boy becomes Standard Chartered Digital Bank Brand Ambassador as it hopes to connect with youths and help them access banking services.

Standard Chartered Bank has unveiled African Giant crooner and Grammy Award nominee, Damini ‘Burna Boy’ Ogulu as its Digital Bank Brand Ambassador in an event held at the bank’s headquarters in Victoria Island.

In his new role, Burna Boy would be promoting Standard Chartered Digital Bank in Nigeria by lending his voice and image rights through marketing and other engagements.

“We are thrilled to be working with the multi-talented Burna Boy to launch our digital Bank,” Standard Chartered CEO, Lamin Manjang said.

“His passion for empowering the youths and positively amplifying the Nigerian brand are very much in line with the bank, making him an ideal partner for this momentous new offering. Going digital also means progression, not just for business, but also for our clients and we look forward to this new journey in banking.”

Burna Boy is arguably the hottest entertainer in Africa right now. With hit songs that resonate with the youthful population and a recent Grammy Award nomination, it isn’t difficult to see why he fits perfectly with a product that targets the youths of Nigeria and Africa.

With over 2 million followers on Twitter and double that number on Instagram, there’s no doubt that Burna Boy is perfect for marketing a banking app such as Standard Chartered. And no one is more excited than the dance hall superstar.
