It’s a beautiful Monday morning and an interesting week in the African tech space. We at Technext have curated a list of tech events that will interest you.

These event come up between October 28 – November 2, 2019.

Nigeria Fintech Week

The Nigeria Fintech Week is week-long event that hopes to critically examine the key sustaining factors of the Fintech innovation in Nigeria.

With a series of conferences and programmes, the event hopes to bring together industry stakeholders, Fintech players and tech enthusiasts. The focus will be on issues in the industry such as bridging the gender gap in fintech practices, consumer protection, and privacy issues. Alternative local fundraisers, investment for Fintechs, and stimulation of better policy regime will also be discussed.

Venue: LandMark Event Centre, VI, Lagos

Date: Monday, October 28 – Friday, November 1, 2019.

Afrilabs Annual Gathering

The AfriLabs Annual Gathering is a platform for tech hubs in the AfriLabs network, stakeholders, and investors in the African tech ecosystem to convene, network and share knowledge.

Currently the 4th edition of the event is themed “Connect: Towards an Integrated Innovation Ecosystem”. It will feature panel discussions, keynote addresses, multiple parallel workshops, local ecosystem tours, networking sessions, and open-floor exhibitions.

Venue: African Union Commission Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Date: Monday, October 28 – Wednesday, October 30, 2019.

#StartupSouth5

The #StartupSouth5 Uyo will bring together founders, innovators, policy makers and government officials from across Africa for the biggest South-South/South-East event.

Themed “Unlocking the next 60 Million”, the event will explore conversations around deepening broadband and making the right policies to help improve economic activities in the region.

Venue: E3 Events and Banquets, Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

Date: Tuesday, October 29 – Saturday, November 2, 2019.

Bells University of Technology 2019 Science and Technology Colloquium

The Science and Technology Colloquium is a platform for intellectual discussions. Its aim is to align higher education with the emerging digital economy to forge technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

Themed “Digital Technologies for Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, the event will bring together academia and technology leaders for the discourse.

Venue: Bells University of Technology, Idiroko Road, Ota, Ogun.

Date: Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum

The fifth annual Africa Women Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum (Awief) is a pan-African conference that exhibits and awards women entrepreneurs and innovators from across the continent.

The conference theme this year is “Enhancing impact: Digitalisation, investment and intra-African trade”.

Venue: Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Cape Town, South Africa.

Date: Tuesday, October 29 – Wednesday October 30, 2019.

Revolutionising product & service delivery through AI & Machine learning

The last event for this year in the NextGen Tech series, it will bring together experts in Artificial Intelligence and Product Innovations. This is to help attendees understand the evolution of AI and Machine Learning in the Tech and Commerce space and how to implement them in their businesses/startups.
