Visa Appoints New Country Manager Corine Mbiaketcha to Oversee East African Expansion

As part of its strategy to expand its growth in East Africa, Visa has appointed a new Country Manager and Vice President.

Corine Mbiaketcha will be resuming her role as the Country Manager and Vice President on the November 5.

Before her appointment with Visa, Corine worked with Oracle Corporation since 2000 in a variety of capacities. Notably, as the Business Development Manager of Business Intelligence and Data-warehousing for Africa.

Corine, until recently, was the Country Manager and Managing Director of Oracle’s Kenya Hub, East Africa and West Transition. She is passionate about using IT skills to improve the lifestyle of people.

Having interacted with the business environment of many African countries and top IT companies, Corine comes equipped with many firsthand experiences and skills which will go a long way in meeting Visa’s expectations.

She obtained her degree in European Business with Technology in the University of Brighton and later obtained a Masters in the same field from the École de Management Léonard de Vinci.

In her role as Eastern Country manager, Corine has the responsibility of building long-term relationships with clients, regulators and other key stakeholders to drive the expansion of cashless payments in the region.

Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Mauritius and Ethiopia are parts of the 13 East African countries in Corine’s Visa portfolio.

Corine’s appointment is expected to help the region move away from cash into more reliable, secure and creative forms of digital payments.
