Pay-per-use healthcare start-up, Doctoora Health Services, has won the prize of best start-up pitch at the 25th Nigerian Economic Summit start-up pitch competition hosted by The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) in Abuja.

The NESG Start-up Pitching Event at the 25th Nigerian Economic Summit is aimed at connecting new Nigerian ventures seeking to raise funds with potential investors.

In a competition, which was strictly by invitation, Doctoora beat other start-ups to win a cash prize of ₦5 million in 5 minutes pitch contest to prospective investors.

Doctoora, is a healthcare start-up that provides fully serviced medical facilities to healthcare professionals on a pay-per-use basis. It serves as an online marketplace where consumers can search and book for healthcare professionals within the Doctoora network.

In 2017, the NESG introduced a Start-ups Pitching Event as part of the Annual Nigerian Economic Summit for start-up entrepreneurs struggling to get the funds they need to grow their business and, in some cases, even require a mentorship, professional advisory services.

New start-ups with innovative ideas will be the direct beneficiaries of the event, as they will showcase their businesses before investors and have access to investment opportunities.

They will also be able to receive guidance and business opinions from them during the event which will also greatly enhance their capacities to grow.

The early-stage start-ups that Doctoora defeated are Notitia, Agriple, Phaheem Pharmaceuticals Limited, AfriNET Power Tech Solutions, Tiny Hearts Technology, GatePass, Loystar, Gricd Services Limited and Green Axis.
