Hi everyone. I trust we all had a great weekend. Well, it is that time of the week when we at Technext bring you a curated list of tech events in Africa happening this week. These events fall between Monday 23 and Sunday 29, September.

Lagos Startup Week

The Lagos Startup Week brings together the ecosystem of technology agents for a whole week. This year, it is themed, “Collaboration – Together we can achieve more,” aimed at community and connection.

It will focus on the intimate experience of human collaboration where ideas are born, developed and spread.

Venue: Lagos.

Date: Monday 23 – Friday 28 September, 2019.

Built to Last in Africa – Our Logistical Nightmare

Generally, African entrepreneurs face the logistical nightmare of having to both develop profitable concepts and build the infrastructure that makes them viable. This event will focus on discovering innovative ways to move services, money, and human capital to their intended destinations and the regulations that dictate that movement.

Time: 6 pm.

Epic Hour

An event for the Lagos tech community to learn and network, Epic Hour brings individuals with specific knowledge of the industry to speak to participants.

For this July edition, Epic Hour will be featuring Tosin Faniro-Dada, Head, Startups at LSETF, to talk about the role of government in building Nigeria’s startup ecosystem.

TC Townhall: Mobility

An event by Techcabal, it is aimed at providing deep insights into Africa’s mobility sector, set an agenda for future growth and offer newcomers an insight into what the most influential startups are doing.

Techcabal will be bringing together the most knowledgeable and influential mobility entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers to explore, discuss and define the potential of Africa’s mobility sector, the challenges and what the future holds.

Venue: Zone Tech Park, Lagos.

Date: Friday, September 27, 2019.

Accra Global Women Startup Weekend

Startup Weekend is one of the best ways to support local communities as it helps to explore firsthand experience on what the startup ecosystem in Ghana has to offer the global market.

Startup Weekend provides an avenue for startups to share ideas, meet a team, and be mentored by the industry’s finest. It also helps participants find the right tools needed to design and build new products, services or businesses in the space of a single, fast-paced weekend.

Venue: MEST Africa, Accra, Ghana.

Date: Friday 27 – Sunday 29, September, 2019.

Time: 3 pm.

Techne Summit

This is an international multi-industry focused investment and entrepreneurship event. It aims to showcase different technologies to impact various sectors and stakeholders of the startup communities in the Mediterranean region.

This is the 4th edition and the event has so far attracted more than 6000 attendees, 130 speakers, 230 startups, and 80 investors, all from more than 25 countries. The 2019 edition will also feature the launch of the first dedicated Mediterranean Business Angel Investment Network (Med Angels).

Venue: Alexandria, Egypt.
