The Rise Labs, Nigeria’s first AI-powered Learning, Research and Work Readiness Centre has announced the launched of the Nation’s first Artificial Intelligence Ideathon in partnership with Business Day Newspaper and some other Key Private Sector Stakeholders.

The organizers seek to evaluate ideas that have the potential of solving Nigeria’s Education, Agriculture, Healthcare and financial inclusion problems using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models and methodologies and reward the winning ideas.

The competition is open to students, data scientists, working professionals, developers and academics across Nigeria who are passionate about becoming the early pioneers of groundbreaking innovative solutions using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Solutions.

Winners of the Ideathon will get the opportunity to showcase their AI and ML models to a broad community of stakeholders i.e. Policy Makers, Technology Experts and Organizations, Leaders in the Private Sector and Venture Capitalists.

Winners will go home with an Apple MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018) with a $1000 prize, a Microsoft Surface Book 2 (13.5-inch), a 13-inch, 2018 MacBook Air.

Similarly, their Ideas will be published in The Rise Labs National AI Innovation e-book. They will also enjoy a free Mentorship Support by some the best AI Innovators & Experts within around the globe.

Others include an opportunity to pitch at WORKPLAN (Africa’s Action Plan on Education, Skills and the Future of Work event billed to hold in November), a free 3-6months Workspace, Incubation and Technical support offer at The Rise Labs.

Winners of the Ideathon will get access to venture capital and more

Submission of entries for the Ideathon begins at 12:01 am on August 19th, 2019 and ends at 11:59 pm on September 20th, 2019 (West Africa Time).

Intending participants must be 18 years of age or older and Minors must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
