President Buhari’s Ministerial List Sparked Mixed Reactions from Nigerians on Social Media. Who will be the Next ICT Minister?

Hello people, it’s another beautiful weekend but the week has not been a good one for Nigerians as they seem unhappy over President Buhari’s ministerial list. After its release, it sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media with #MinisterialList trending.

Nigerians felt very angry, to the point that even small babies refused to smile. Don’t ask us how we know this!

Some Nigerians on social media were not impressed to see the same old names on the list because the President had promised to appoint more youths.

    — SIGNAL (@thesignalng) July 23, 2019

Others reacted because the list contains only a few women.

    How many women made #thelist?

The President had promised Nigerian women a certain percentage in his cabinet if he wins a second term.

Did @MBuhari fulfill his promise in the new #MinisterialList? pic.twitter.com/XQh0EkM0WI

    — Benny (@BenUgbana) July 23, 2019

A lot of Nigerians were disappointed too that Akinwunmi Ambode former Lagos State Governor did not make the list.

So this #MinisterialList is out and Ambode is not there. That thing Dey pain!!#TheList pic.twitter.com/hLGqy7XbS9

    — KING OLADELE (@KINGOLADELE_) July 23, 2019

Amidst reactions to the list, Nigerians have also been wondering which appointee will get what portfolio and people in the tech space especially have wondered who will be made ICT minister.

So @MBuhari has released the #MinisterialList, Just curious to know Which of the Ministers do you think can be the Minister for #ICT 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, we hope that after the Senate clears them, they will las las help Mr President stabilise the nation and face the real problems this time.

Recall that we wrote about how Nigerians reacted when Wizkid and Beyonce collaborated on ‘Brown Skin Girl’.

Now David ‘Davido’ Adeleke and American pop singer Chris Brown have released their own collaboration ‘Blow My Mind’ and Nigerians have reacted to it on social media comparing the song with Wizkid’s.

    See reactions below:

Well, I think there is no point comparing the artistes. They are representing Nigeria and Africa as a whole very well.

Thank you for coming through. See you next week. Have a great weekend.

The Doodle, created by Lagos-based graphic artist and illustrator @OhabTBJ, pays tribute to the guitarist who died in June 2008 at the age of 61, following a heart attack. The creative inspiration was drawn from De Coque’s love for the guitar, his energetic performance style, his unique music brand, and his love of tradition and culture.
