Jobberman’s Cofounder Olalekan Olude Appointed Special Adviser Job Creation and Youth Empowerment to the Ogun State Governor

Jobberman’s Cofounder Olalekan Olude Appointed Special Adviser Job Creation and Youth Empowerment to the Ogun State Governor

Co-founder of Jobberman, Nigeria’s biggest recruitment website, Olalekan Olude, has just been appointed by Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun as Special Adviser, Job Creation and Youth Empowerment.

    Olalekan Adeniyi Olude,
    co-founder of Jobberman Limited.

    — Sulai Oduwole (@SulaiOdus) July 10, 2019

A serial entrepreneur, Olalekan holds a BSc in Computer Science from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU). He has also attended the Lagos Business School and the University of Pennsylvania.

Prior to his appointment, Olalekan was the co-founder and Executive Director at Rovedana Limited, a business outsourcing company that provides employment to thousands of Nigerians. In 2009, he, alongside two others, founded Jobberman, where he operated in the capacity of a COO. Today, Jobberman is West Africa’s most popular job search engine and has survived despite the decline and withdrawal of others like Careers24.

Olalekan is also a founding partner of African Talents Company – an executive recruitment agency.

Before these, Olalekan worked as a Network Engineer with TeleMobile Nigeria Limited and a Technology Analyst with global investment bank, Goldman Sachs.

    Olalekan Olude

All these his ventures show his passion for helping companies get suitable hands and in turn create opportunities for thousands of Africans. So his appointment in charge of job creation and youth empowerment is putting a ’round peg in a round hole’.

Interestingly, he is not the first technocrat given a political appointment in recent times. In March this year, Akintunde Oyebode, the then Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund was appointed as Special Adviser, Investment, Trade and Innovations to the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi. This shows the willingness of the government to bring in professional hands to the task of governing and get things done the right way.

Olalekan will be bringing over 10 years of experience in empowering Nigerians to his new role as Special Adviser on Job Creation and Youth Empowerment.

He would be charged with helping the Governor make decisions, creating a strategic framework and implementation plan for job creation and youth employment.

We say a big congratulations to Olalekan on his new role.
