Rent Small Small Merges its Home Rental Service with Maid Easy and Furnisure to Expand its Service Offerings

Rent Small Small Merges its Home Rental Service with Maid Easy and Furnisure to Expand its Service Offerings

In a move to provide customers with a wider range of services, Rent Small Small has taken a big leap. The proptech startup has merged with two other industry players – Maid Easy, a cleaning, fumigation and laundry service provider and Furnisure, a furniture/appliance rental provider, under a new name – Rent Small Small Group.

This merger is said to have been in the works by all 3 platforms for a while, and will see the platforms operate as a consortium.

All three companies, Rent Small small, Furnisure and Maid Easy, have joined forces to provide a comprehensive network of integrated services that will better serve the property, furniture/appliance and cleaning service market.

    Rent Small small

Prior to this merger, Rent Small Small had broken into the rental properties market by providing Nigerians with convenience-based options to pay for living spaces and no agent charge. As an innovative disruptor in the proptech scene this decision to merge is an interesting move.

It's happening in Nigeria now with @rentsmallsmall

    — Rent Small Small (@rentsmallsmall) February 24, 2019

It allows the platform provide users with Furnisure’s services and Maid Easy’s cleaning services, in an all in one package. These new offerings present the proptech platform an opportunity to increase its user base.

Maid Easy, a cleaning, fumigation and laundry service provider.

With the new service, users get settled into apartments provided by Rent Small Small with little or no stress, at flexible rates.

Not only this, all three startups stand to gain from leveraging each other’s user base for their various services. This will mean an integration of all three platforms which according to the group, is currently ongoing.

The integration work has begun with a key focus on developing and enhancing business processes for more than four industries – Real estate, Furniture and Appliance, Cleaning and Fumigation, Moving services.

This is likely going to affect the pricing of Rent Small Small’s service although the consortium says it won’t be making any price changes for now.

Nigerian proptech startup @RentSmallSmall has announced that it has merged with Furnisure and Maid Easy, a Lagos-based domestic service company offering cleaning, domestic staffing, laundry and fumigation services, and now operates as a consortium under Rent Small Small Group.

    — Techloy (@techloy) July 2, 2019

“We assure you that our pricing, product and support procedures will remain unchanged for now, and we intend to incorporate the best features of all our services in the future,” says Rent Small Small.

This merger could have a ripple effect in the Nigerian startup space as brands come together to better disrupt their sub-sectors. However, the new consortium still has a lot of work to do and would need a strong campaign to market its services

Things are gradually returning to normal as the nu Things are gradually returning to normal as the number of covid-19 cases continues to fall. Although it may take a while before we hug people or shake hands without second thoughts, things are getting better.

Only 523 new cases were recorded between April 6 and 13. This is a slight increase compared to the 497 people that tested positive over the previous week. Two weeks earlier, Technext reported that 584 people tested positive.

The numbers show a sustained decrease in the spread of infections across the country. Indeed the Lagos state government is now confident enough to allow event centres and relaxation centres to increase their crowd capacity. Along with that, here are other developments during the week.

The Doodle, created by Lagos-based graphic artist and illustrator @OhabTBJ, pays tribute to the guitarist who died in June 2008 at the age of 61, following a heart attack. The creative inspiration was drawn from De Coque’s love for the guitar, his energetic performance style, his unique music brand, and his love of tradition and culture.
