Ride-hailing startup, Bolt is extending its ride offerings to corporate businesses allowing them to manage and pay for corporate trips from one platform.

Known as Bolt for Business, the new service allows companies to offer employees access to use the bolt service at the company’s expense. So for official purposes such as coming to work, going to client meetings or getting to the airport, employees can use Bolt on the company’s account.

The new product is currently available in more than 25 markets across Europe and Africa.

“We have launched Bolt for Business after noticing that a growing number of Bolt trips are taken for business purposes during working hours, whether it’s commuting to work, rushing to client meetings or getting to the airport”.

Prior to this, many companies require their employees to relate cost of trips in order to receive a reimbursement or have their own personal cars – which in Nigeria is not an easy deal.

With this solution, Bolt saves employees and businesses the stress of reporting ride expenses, providing a comfortable personal transport without the high costs of car ownership.

Using the platform, businesses can store the details of their employees on a single dashboard and allocate a monthly budget for employee(s). Companies can also set the number of rides available to each person monthly and request for employees to state the purpose of the ride before taking it.

So instead of reimbursing each individual employee after a trip, companies would have already paid for trips at the beginning of the month. This will make payments and transportation easier for companies and endear Bolt to companies as the preferred ride-hailing platform.

On the Bolt for Business portal, account managers can set up rules and control when and who can use the business trips, making it simple to monitor and budget the company’s transportation expenses.

The company will also adding more functionalities such as adding restrictions to specific time and location for taking trips and a prepaid payment method to the Bolt for Business platform later this year.

The new service is available on both also Mobile and Desktop and companies can sign up here.
