According to a recent report by WeeTracker Research, tech and innovative companies across the African continent in 2018 received over 700 million US dollars in multiple funding deals. An analysis of the report reveals that, Nigeria beat South Africa and Kenya as Africa’s top funding destination for startups.

Well, that’s a good result from 2018. This is 2019 and as part of our contribution to the further growth of the ecosystem, we invite startups who are building or have built something great to jump-in and pitch to be on CFA’s weekly TV show – Tech Trends on Channels TV.

Please note that the following factors are key in deciding if you’d be invited to the pitch session or not; clear description of the problem being solved, unique selling points, marketability, business model etc.

Interested startups and entrepreneurs are expected to complete this form, which closes on the 25th of January, 2019.

Speaking ahead of the pitch exercise, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr. “CFA”, Presenter, Tech Trends on Channels TV and Co-founder, GoDo.ng, stressed “that the one-on-one session is a unique opportunity for start-ups who’d like to reach millions across the world to step out and convince a panel of judges that they have what it takes”.

He further stated that, “apart from the possibility of becoming the winner, all those who participate will get useful advice and tips from a respected panel of judges plus have an opportunity to get featured on the new segment called ‘Featured Startups’. This is because growth of startups remains paramount to the development of the Nigerian economy”. He concluded.

Finally, a number of startups that have participated in our previous pitch sessions say it has added some value. Here’s what two of them had to say.

“It gave me exposure and people started taking us much more seriously because we are being showcased on National television. The fact that CFA interviewed me gave me a boost. Thank you Tech Trends because it is been an amazing run since I won that pitch”. Joel Amawhe, CEO, MyPadi.ng | Here’s is the link to the interview.

“I had a meeting with an investor who told me about the interview which gave me more confidence during the conversation. This is a good initiative by CFA”. Luther Lawoyin, CEO, Lucy.ng. Watch the interview here.

Tech Trends is arguably Nigeria’s most authoritative tech & innovation show on television. It is currently viewed by millions across Nigeria, Africa, UK, and the rest of the world based on Channels Television’s ever increasing reach.
