Netflix is Testing a New Feature That Allows Users Replay Scenes but not Everyone is Impressed With it

Online streaming service provider, Netflix is currently testing an instant replay feature that would allow users watch a scene again. Currently available to a few users of the platform, the new tool shows as a pop-up notification asking if a user wants to “watch this scene again.”

In a statement the company said,

“We’re trying out a feature which gives Netflix members the ability to rewatch favorite scenes and memorable moments with the click of a button. Right now we’re just looking to learn from it and may or may not roll it out more broadly in the future.”

Prior to this release, users have to use the rewind button to replay a scene. But with this new feature, users, can easily do that with just one tap.

However, while some people don’t mind the new development, others who have been included in the instant replay trial don’t seem impressed. The most common complaint is that the pop-ups are distracting.

So far, the feature has only worked for Netflix’s original series, films, and select licensed content. And while it’s unclear if Netflix may or may not implement the instant replay feature once testing is complete, it would be very important if they take into consideration the complaints of users. Should they decide to roll it out to their 120 million users, they should include an opt-out option for users that are not fans of the feature.
