Banky W shocks Social Media, As He Announces Interest In Politics.
During the week, Banky W made an announcement that shook social media. The popular musician officially joined Nigerians politics and will be running for the Federal House of Representative under Modern Democratic Party. According to the EME boss, he has decided to take the bold step that Nigerian youths have been clamouring for.

As a result, Nigerians took to social media to declare their support for him even when they did not see it coming. Of course you could expect the usual social media jibe as some people said his recent knack for motivational speaking now makes sense. SMH for some people.

Farmcrowdy Celebrates Two Years Of Amazing Journey
Prominent Nigerian agritech startup, Farmcrowdy celebrated its 2nd year in operation during the week. Since its inception, Farmcrowdy has gone on to show that the agriculture business could also be rewarding.

MTN Takes over Simfy Streaming Service
Africa’s biggest telecom conglomerate, MTN Group, in an effort to intensify its digital quest, recently acquired South African Streaming Service Simfy Africa. This is by far MTN’s loudest effort to become a strong player in the digital world.

Presently, Simfy’s service is available only in South Africa. But with this acquisition, MTN says it will make Simfy available across Africa and the Middle East, two regions its telecom service operates. Congratulations to MTN.
Nigeria Data analytics Firm, Terragon Group Acquires Asian Mobile ad Bizense.
Lagos-based data analytic firm, Terragon Group, has acquired Asian mobile marketing company, Bizense.

Terragon continues to disrupt the data analytics space in Nigeria with a revenue of $4 to 5 million. This shows that despite the tight digital advertising space, Terragon obviously has a foothold in the industry.
Google Doodle Honours Christy Igbokwe On Her 58th posthumous birthday
During the week, Legendary Nigerian singer, Christy Essien-Igbokwehe became the latest Nigerian honoured by Google Doodle. Considered one of the best during her time, the late singer and actress was famed for classics like Seun Rere, and Akwa Ibom Mmi.
